Broomehill recovered from an early stumble to post a huge first-inning total against Kojonup and register a dominant victory in round six of the Great Southern Cricket Association on Saturday.

After losing early wickets and falling to 4-94, the reigning premiers secured a huge 111-run victory over the Cougars in Kojonup courtesy of handy contributions from their middle order.

Bandicoots openers Jack Batchelor and James Barritt (both four) each failed before Mac Crichton (35) and David Hinchcliffe (47) provided crucial innings.

The Cougars crumbled to 5-13 and were never able to recover before being rolled for just 126 in the 38th over.

Katanning Wanderers all-rounder Tyron Pinney had a field day with bat and ball as the Tigers secured their second win of the season with a six-wicket victory over Australs North.

Pinney collected a five-wicket haul as the Tigers bowled the Lions out for 143 in the 34th over before a stellar unbeaten knock at the top of the order to steer his side to victory in reply.

After losing the toss and bowling, the Tigers started well after Ely Anderson snared the Lions’ star English import Archie Atwell for a duck on the second ball of the innings.

Zane Sutherland (18) and Kane Scott (33) consolidated before Pinney wreaked havoc against the Lions’ batters.

Pinney took 5-35 from 7.2 overs, ripping through the Lions’ batting lineup as the hosts’ final six wickets fell for just 39 runs.

Joe Raynor (2-19) and Ryan Sinclair (2-16) combined for four wickets as the other multiple wicket takers.

In reply, Pinney anchored his side’s run chase beautifully, scoring 60 not out from 69 balls as Raynor deposited the Lions’ bowlers to all ends of the park.

Raynor belted 12 fours and a maximum in his stunning 61-run knock in just 23 balls.

The Tigers experienced a mini-collapse when Carson Dewar (3-16) took three wickets in an over before aggressive batsman Brock Green helped Pinney to the target four wickets down.

In the final match of the round, an inspired Sebastian Ballard rallied Kendenup to a gripping two-run victory over Tambellup in Kendenup.

Ballard belted 91 from just 66 balls, including eight fours and three sixes, while No.9 Ben Oldfield contributed a crucial 21 late in the innings before they were bowled out for 181 in the 39th over.

An undermanned Tambellup’s top-order all got starts with Shane Willmott and captain Flynn Cristinelli each scoring 26 before Connor Hawkins (17) and Jedd Herbert (44) made vital contributions.

But Sebastian Ballard’s 3-28 helped Kendenup take the final four wickets for five runs to claim a gripping victory.
