A 50-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in Rocky Gully in WA’s Great Southern.

Police say the man was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle north on Nornalup Road between 12.20 and 1.20pm on Wednesday when it left the road and struck a tree.

He died of his injuries at the scene.

The rider’s death was the 27th on the roads in the Great Southern Police District this year — significantly higher than the five-year average of 19.

It comes after the loss of Perth man Graeme Carmody in a fatal crash near Kendenup on Christmas Day.

Major Crash investigators would like to speak to people who witnessed the Rocky Gully accident or saw the motorcycle in the area before the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
