Bulldogs maul Eagles with 24 goals to zero to maintain unbeaten streak

Ladder leaders Gnowangerup held rivals Jerramungup scoreless in their round seven Ongerup Football Association fixture in Gnowangerup on Saturday.

Former AFL-listed player Timm House was the star in the mauling, as he finished with 13 goals to help the Bulldogs win their sixth straight game this season.

The Bulldogs wore specially designed Indigenous jumpers in the home game and ran out 158-point winners at the final siren, to move three games clear on top of the ladder and with a percentage of more than 550.

The Eagles conceded four goals in the opening term but by half-time found themselves 71 points down as the classy Bulldogs took total control.

The margin blew out beyond 100 points before three-quarter-time and the home side piled on eight goals in the final stanza to finish emphatic victors 24.14 (158) to nil.

House was hard to stop in the forward half as he kicked 13 majors, taking his season tally to 47 goals in just six matches.

Elliot Jaeschke was superb in the win along with Campbell Floyd, Thomas Stewart and Scott Anderson (two goals), while Nathan Willmott was another important target in attack and booted three majors.

The visitors were best served by Wade Brown, Darcy Webb and Tate Barrett but were unable to match the quality of the reigning premiers.

In the other match, Newdegate moved to second place after recording a big win over Boxwood Hill. Playing at home the Lions started strongly and had too many answers in attack as they ran out 81-point winners.

Arron Russell (four goals), Jarrad Offer (three) and Chris Wollaston (three) did the damage in the forward half for the Lions.

Nelson Kent won plenty of the ball and was in the best alongside Dean Rintoul and Wollaston in the 16.15 (111) to 4.6 (30) win. Hayden Richter toiled hard for Boxwood and was well supported by Matthew Fregon, Jeremy Walker and Glenn Peacock (two goals).
