The Geraldton RSL is seeking volunteers to help raise money as part of Remembrance Day commemorations.

Poppy Day commemorates the end of World War I, and the RSL will be looking to raise money to assist veterans and distressed military service people and their families in the Geraldton area.

Last year, the group raised more than $9000 thanks to its volunteers.

While poppies are distributed by Jenny and Ken Morris, the RSL sought volunteers for assistance in helping out at collection points on Friday, November 8, ahead of Remembrance Day.

The group is hoping for volunteers at several locations across the city to assist with fundraising.

Karl Edwards and Mark Long will once again take to the CBD to raise funds, sporting their period uniforms and rifles while carrying around collection tins.

Anyone looking to volunteer their time is asked to contact Mr Morris via email at kennethmorris@bigpond.com.
