Shortly after 11pm, the blaze was brought under control, however, the home suffered extensive damage.

Neighbours have spoken of their shock to walk out and see the bright glow of the blaze taking over the family home.

“I just seen a really bright glow up in the sky and I came out the front of my house and noticed the house was on fire,” neighbour David Heath told 9News.

Local Maree Baker, said the “popping” of the ferocios inferno woke her up.

“That’s what woke me up as I heard popping noises,” she said.

“It was very scary”

Another witness reported the flames were as high as the house in “mere minutes”.
