Homicide detectives calling for information on two cars after two charged with murder of Gregory McCracken

Homicide detectives are calling for information on the movements of two vehicles in the lead-up to the alleged murder of a man who was found dead in a burnt-out car near Boddington in December. Gregory James McCracken’s body was found in the front passenger seat of a burnt-out Holden Commodore on Ricks Road in Springs on December 6. Firefighters were called to the blaze about 12.30pm before the grim discovery. Two women — Janine Louise Denny and Amanda Jane Sargent — have since been charged with murder, attempting to kill, and stealing a motor vehicle. Police claim the pair attempted to kill Mr McCracken between June 13 and October 12, 2024, at Boddington — before murdering him between December 5 and 6. The investigation remains ongoing with detectives calling for any dashcam, CCTV footage or information in relation to the below vehicles. A black Toyota Landcruiser with WA registration plates ‘1FAX362’ and a silver Holden Commodore with the plates ‘1GJX868’. Police said these two cars are believed to have been travelling solo or in convoy on Albany Highway, between Crossman Road and North Bannister-Wandering Road, from 10.30pm December 5 and 12.15am December 6. The silver Holden Commodore had silver roof racks and silver rims, and the black Toyota Landcruiser had black rims, black platinum number plates, a roof rack platform, three spotlights on the front of the car, and a long aerial. Detective Senior Sergeant Stephen Cleal called for anyone with information on the cars to contact police. “Anyone with footage or information on these vehicles travelling in convoy or solo on the evening of December 5, which was a Thursday, in the hours between 10.30pm and quarter past midnight we are requesting they contact Crime Stoppers,” he said. “The investigation is very much ongoing.
