It’s the miracle everyone across the Australia - and the globe - had been hoping for. That four-year-old Cleo Smith would be found alive and well.

That miracle came true - against all odds - this morning when an armed police team broke their way into a locked house in Carnarvon just before 1am and found the little girl alive in one of the rooms.

When one of the officers swooped in and picked her up into his arms, and asked he what her name was, little Cleo uttered her first words.

She said - ‘My name is Cleo’

Cleo has now been reunited with her parents, who have been working with police to find her for almost three weeks.

The search has been long, thorough and intensive - with WA Police throwing everything they have at it.

WA Police Deputy Commissioner Col Blanch made the announcement in a statement early on Wednesday morning, more than two weeks after the four-year-old disappeared from her family’s tent during a camping trip about 70km north of town at The Blowholes.

“It’s the outcome we’ve achieved because of some incredible police work,” he said.

“I want to thank Cleo’s parents, the Western Australian community and the many volunteers.

“And of course, I want to thank my colleagues in the Western Australia Police Force.

Mr Blanch said he would have more to say on the rescue of Cleo as the day unfolds.

“For now — welcome home Cleo,” he said.
