Battery World is moving further south as its store in Busselton officially celebrated opening on Thursday.

The Busselton store is expected to make it easier for the community to meet their battery needs and for roadside servicing.

It will be owned and managed by husband and wife Matt and Hayley Giles.

They have operated Battery World Bunbury store for the past 15 years and despite it servicing the Capes region, distance was proving difficult to provide timely servicing.

This led the couple to take the plunge and open a new store closer to customers who need their assistance.

Mr Giles said there had been a lot of demand from customers in the Capes region.

“We’ve found from Bunbury we had a lot of Busselton, Margaret River and Dunsborough customers that in conversation said ‘oh I wish you had a store here or I wish you had a store there’,” he said.

“The time was right and my wife and I wanted the next challenge as well.”

The store opened earlier this month on unit 13/115 Strelly Street and after initial success the duo are keen to build on the momentum.

Mr Giles said it was a relatively smooth process to get the new store up and running.

“It’s been really good; the lease took a little while but other than that all the Battery World stuff ran like clockwork,” he said.

“They’re a great franchise to be a part of and we were up and going within about six months.”

Battery World sells a variety of batteries and accessories for cars, the home and industrial purposes.

It also provides roadside car servicing for battery issues.

Mr Giles said he had received positive feedback from customers so far.

“It’s all been positive, they love the look of the shop,” he said.

“We’ve gone all out on making it look like a shiny new toy and it pops.

“Most people have been impressed and the feedback has been good.”
