Santa Paws visits RSPCA Animal Care Centre in Malaga to deliver toys and treats to furry friends
They may have been abandoned or abused but these furry creatures were not forgotten this Christmas.
Just before he headed back to the North Pole, Santa Paws stopped by the RSPCA Animal Care Centre to spread some festive cheer and give the 400 animals a welcomed gift — as well as a delicious treat.
Staff and volunteers also showered the cute canines, loveable felines, adorable rabbits and gorgeous guinea pigs with affection and made sure their Christmas Day was filled with fun and food.
RSPCA WA spokesperson Lou Rowe said there were many reasons why animals find themselves with the organisation over the holiday period from those still undergoing treatment to those at the centre of ongoing cruelty prosecutions.
“Sadly, there are also some animals in care who just didn’t get their wish for a new home by Christmas — like Chippie, who has been here for 84 long days,” she added.
The one-year-old Staffy was surrendered to RSPCA WA in October when her owner no longer had enough time for her and desperately wants a forever home.
Ms Rowe encouraged anyone who was thinking about welcoming a furry or feathered friend into their home to visit adoptapet.com.au.
