Narrogin’s Rob and Pat Tombleson walked away victorious at the annual Valentine’s Tournament held by Gomm Park Croquet Club earlier this month.

A total of 44 players from Narrogin, Busselton, Dunsborough and Katanning joined Albany locals in the two-day round-robin event at the Lower King site.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions, players from Perth and Peel were unable to make it to the event, which was established in 2015 by John Kenworthy.

The Tombleson pairing proved too strong for Walter Reid and Jennie Creek in block A, which helped them claim the overall win.

In block B, Arthur Simpfendorfer and George Vick defeated Clive Faulkner and Kathy Hetherington.

Tournament manager Faulkner thanked club president Jennie Creek, grounds manager Tony Cusack and the many Gomm Park club members who had been involved in the tournament.

Southern Ports Albany manager Graeme Poole and Bornia Gardens Village’s Murray and Fay McLean presented the prizes to the winners.
