A two-day visit by Dress for Success WA later this month aims to boost the self-confidence of Albany women on the lookout for work and a fresh start.

The organisation’s volunteer styling team will be at the Albany Bowling Club on March 18 and 19 where they will provide one-hour appointments with attendees.

Chief executive Kelli Evans said the one-on-one appointments left women feeling empowered before heading to interviews “or even applying for work”.

“First impressions count and are very important when showing up to an interview and putting your best foot forward,” she said.

“Clothing is a very important piece of the puzzle.”

At the end of the appointment, each woman will be given at least two outfits to keep to complement their boosted self-esteem.

“The appointment involves working one on one with a volunteer stylist and the client choosing the most appropriate clothing that best suits her requirements,” Ms Evans said.

The visit is part of the organisation’s regional outreach program and women from all parts of the community are welcome to take part.

Appointment bookings are essential and can be made by calling 9382 1003 from Tuesday to Thursday, or by emailing info@dfswesternaustralia.org.
