The Outlook at Albany lifestyle village residents share their favourite recipes in national cook book

Albany lifestyle village residents have shared their favourite family recipes in a cook book by retirement village company Serenitas. Family Favourites Cookbook features recipes from Serenitas homeowners and staff from across the country. The books were produced for Mother’s Day to preserve recipes that have been at the heart of family get togethers. The Outlook at Albany resident Neville McGregor is one of 18 contributors to the book. Mr McGregor shares his recipe for barbecued stuffed squid tubes. His wife Jill McGregor said the dish was his “specialty”. “My husband Neville is an amazing cook and having delicious food for whenever we host barbecues with friends and family is really important to us,” she said. “They are delicious and always well received, and while it’s a special dish, it really is not too hard to make.” Ms McGregor said they had set themselves a challenge of catching their own squid for the dish. “When we were living in the Wheatbelt, barbecues were how we caught up with friends, to have a drink, share some food and enjoy some great company,” she said. “Neville’s barbecued stuffed squid tubes were a mainstay.” Thai chicken with basil, by The Outlook at Albany’s development manager Simon Bairstow, is another local recipe featured in the book.
