Strong book of rides for Albany’s Natasha Faithfull as she looks to add to already successful season

Leading Albany rider Natasha Faithfull will be out to extend her lead in the Great Southern Jockeys Premiership when she takes a strong book of rides at Percy Spencer Racecourse on Friday.

Faithfull has had a dominant Great Southern season and holds a significant lead on her rivals with two meetings left in the region.

She will take five rides on the seven-race card this week, including three for leading Albany trainer Steve Wolfe.

Faithfull has ridden 23 winners in the Great Southern this season, well clear of her nearest rivals in Clint Johnston-Porter and Chris Nicoll (10 wins), Holly Watson (nine) and Jason Whiting (eight).

Ribbing appears to be a strong winning chance for Faithfull early in the day, after the three-year-old ran a second placing first-up in Albany last month.

Faithfull was aboard the Wolfe-trained Ribbing in that resuming run and looks ideally placed to break through in the Pelicans Albany Maiden (1100m) despite being drawn wide in barrier 12.

Oddoneout is getting closer to a win, also finishing runner-up at her most recent start, and Faithfull has retained the mount in race four.

From the Gerry Hughes stable, Oddoneout has had 18 career starts for 10 minor placings but is yet to crack her first win.

Cable Boy will be ridden by Faithfull and returns from a short spell in the ARC Life Members Handicap (1100m), where he faces a hot line-up including the likes of Passion Prince, Prince Ragnar and Le Grand Amour.

Faithfull will have strong claims in race six aboard Vrum, for her mum Samantha Faithfull.

Vrum was an impressive class two winner back on April 1 and has been freshened up for this assignment and Faithfull will jump from barrier two with 57.5kg on her back in the field of 12.

Rebel Man ran second at his previous start for Wolfe and will be out to end Faithfull’s day on a winning note.

The strong metro trainer-jockey combination of Adam Durrant and Johnston-Porter come to Albany with a strong team of seven gallopers. The first race on Friday is set down for 12.55pm.
