Stock donation is Men’s Shed’s biggest

A big donation has left the Albany Men’s Shed overwhelmed with gratitude.

Thousands of dollars worth of stock and supplies left over from the Home Timber and Hardware store has been donated by Albany businessman Paul Lionetti.

Men’s Shed life member Mike Taylor said he was blown away by the generosity.

“Paul approached us and said he had all of this leftover stock. It was certainly a surprise and we are so appreciative,” he said.

“There is heaps and heaps of stock. There are drill bits, chains, nails and screws pretty much everything you can think of.

“It took a few trailer loads and a few of the guys to unload it all.”

Paul Lionetti said he was pleased to see the stock go to good use.

“We support the Men’s Shed and I thought, well, rather than try to do something with it, why don’t we help the Men’s Shed?” he said.

“They do a lot of fantastic work in the community. They are more in need of it than I am.”

Mr Lionetti said the donation would have included about $20,000 to $30,000 worth of stock. “There are a lot of great groups and charities around Albany that need support,” he said.

“And there are a lot of people around town that do a lot of good things.”

Mr Taylor said it was the biggest donation made to the Albany Men’s Shed since it opened in 2005.

“We are so grateful. This is the best donation hands down that we have ever received,” he said.
