Stirling Range cliff fall rescue

A man in his 30s has been airlifted from the Stirling Range National Park after he fell 10m of a cliff edge this morning.

The man was hiking with a group of people when he fell several metres off the cliff and landed on a rock.

He hiker is conscious and talking with a paramedic on board the helicopter, however the extent of his injuries are not yet known.

The RAC rescue helicopter was despatched and winched the injured hiker up to the helicopter, where he will be flown to Albany Hospital.

SES, Police and DBCA personnel are preparing to leave the scene.

Great Southern Police thanked DFES, SJA, DBCA and the SES volunteers for their help retrieving the hiker.
