The highly anticipated release of the film Breath will premiere with a special Q&A with Simon Baker at the Albany Entertainment Centre on Saturday, April 21.

The next day, Denmark, the Great Southern town which is the setting for the film, will also receive a community screening in a free event.

Residents have the chance to be some of the first people to see the film rendition of Tim Winton’s novel, which will be released in Australian cinemas on May 3.

Directing and starring in the film, Baker said he felt privileged to be able to take Breath out and hand-deliver it to audiences across Australia.

“I’m especially thrilled to be returning to the Great Southern region of WA to share and celebrate with those communities who welcomed us so warmly, and contributed with great spirit to the making of Breath,” he said.

“It’s their film.” Winton will be accompanying Baker to the two events.

Baker embarks on the tour of the new release after a screening at the Gold Coast Film Festival on Thursday, April 19.

Tickets are available to the Albany Entertainment Centre Q&A and screening at ptt.wa. gov. au.
