UPDATE: A 72-year-old truck driver has been found safe and well during a search in a national park in WA’s Great Southern.

Police issued a public plea for information about the man on Saturday night before a search was launched on Sunday.

It was understood he was travelling to Peaceful Bay, between Denmark and Walpole, but did not arrive at his destination.

Police believed the man could have become bogged in Mt Roe National Park.

SES volunteers and aerial assets were used in the search which had a happy ending when the man was found with his vehicle in the search area.

Mt Roe National Park covers 127,726 hectares and is a mixture of old growth forest, shrub, wetlands, rivers and creeks.

There are no recreation sites within the national park, which is managed to protect its wilderness values.
