Right place, right time for loyal surfers of The Right
Renowned surf photographer Trent Slatter was part of a small group of surf enthusiasts that made the trip to the world-famous The Right, a wave between Denmark and Walpole on the South Coast, on Tuesday.
Slatter captured this wonderful image of big-wave surfer Dan Corbett tackling The Right, known as one of the heaviest waves in the world, and one that reaches its peak on only a handful of occasions each year.
Corbett was joined by fellow big-wave surfer Brad Norris.
“It was more the fact no one was there which is very rare these days,” Slatter said.
“It was like the old days when it was first discovered. We were out there for about four or five hours and it was peaceful, no one got hurt and no sharks were seen.”
