Upbeat, funky and the sound of summer.

These are three ways to describe the flair that emanates from indie-pop group San Cisco.

The Fremantle-based band arrived in Albany last weekend for two shows as part of their Between You & Me tour showcasing a new album of the same name.

San Cisco’s support act Jay Grafton opened the show at Studio 146 just after 8pm last Saturday.

Donning a bucket hat and an uber colourful skirt complemented by her turquoise guitar, Grafton had a sweet voice of an angel — soft and delicate.

While the small but mighty crowd cheered her on through some original songs, it was clear who everyone had come to see.

Starting their set about 9.30pm, the trio started with a bang performing popular song Skin.

Lead singer Jordi Davieson was brilliant on stage, getting into the tunes and dancing up front.

Their single, Messages, saw crowd favourite Scarlett Stevens come out from behind her drums for a playful pop song with the homespun charm of San Cisco’s best work.

Other highlights from the night included Reasons, which contemplates some hard questions about love and On The Line, which cheerily bounced around the nightclub.

Too Much Time Together from their 2015 album Gracetown was a great throwback.

A personal favourite was Shine, a catchy song that in my opinion is a mix of the Stranger Things theme song and bubbling synths.

Finishing their lively performance Davieson, Stevens and lead guitarist Josh Biondillo joined the Albany crowd on the dance floor before escaping to the safety of the stage exit.
