Receiver outage triggers shark warning

A shark advice has been issued for water users due to an outage in the Shark Monitoring Network receiver at Ellen Cove, Middleton Beach.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development said tagged shark detections from the receiver is currently offline.

It is the only receiver out of service.

The Ellen Cove receiver is out of operation until further notice and Departmental staff are investigating the fault.

Authorities said repairs will require a maintenance crew to assess the full extent of the work required and extra caution is advised for water users in the area.
