Primary school students raise more than $200 for local Albany charity for hospice
Students from Parklands Primary School held a bake sale on Monday to raise money for Albany Hospice.
They finished up raising a total of $254.80.
The Year 5 students were asked to choose a charity and an activity to raise money as part of the school’s community outreach initiative.
The popular choice among the children was Butterflies, which runs an op shop and donates proceeds to the Albany Hospice.
Butterflies manager Barbara Thomas made a visit to the class to thank the students for their enthusiastic fundraising efforts, to provide more information about the foundation and to answer the student’s questions.
