Stepping away from big festivals and supporting former One Direction star Harry Styles, The Preatures play in Albany tomorrow night on their biggest tour to date.

The Sydney rock band will be supported by Ali Barter, making the touring line-up a dream for many triple J fans.

Drummer Luke Davison said the 40-date regional tour had got the entire band excited.

“Unfortunately, when touring Australia, it’s a standard to do only capital cities which leaves out giant parts of the population, making people either miss out on shows or have to travel quite far,” he said.

“This time, we’re making it easier and hopefully a more intimate experience.

“It probably looks more daunting than it is — we can go home in between and don’t need to spend all day in a van.

“It will be a great chance to go to places we might not normally get to visit.”

Davidson said their latest album, Girlhood, took a few years to make.

“It includes our single, Yanada, which was a proud moment for us because we were fortunate enough to be able to consult with the indigenous community in collaboration with lyrics in the B Chorus. It was an incredibly special experience for all of us.”

The band chose long-time friend Barter for the support slot after working with her on previous shows.

Their latest album, Girlhood comes after the success of first album Blue Planet Eyes.

Tickets are are still available to see the four-piece band play tomorrow night.

Tickets can be bought at oztix. com.au for $34.70.

The over-18s show starts at 8pm.
