Police launch land, sea search near Albany tourist spot The Gap amid welfare concerns for missing man Parbhat

Great Southern police have launched a land and sea search in a bid to find a man who has gone missing near the popular tourist spot the Gap in Albany.

Police have urgent welfare concerns for 29-year-old Parbhat who was last seen in his car in the carpark of the Gap in Torndirrup National Park on Monday, August 5.

Parbhat is described as olive-skinned with dark hair and a beard and was last seen wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit.

He has not been sighted since Monday, with his disappearance sparking an extensive police operation on Tuesday.

Several police resources were deployed to the area to conduct a preliminary search for Parbhat.

An incident control vehicle was seen entering the area at 4.53pm on Tuesday afternoon.

The Albany Advertiser understands that a land and sea search, involving water resources and air assets, will start on Wednesday morning with the road to the Gap to remain closed overnight.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police immediately on 131 444.
