Albany crash: Police charge driver after Mitsubishi allegedly smashes into car on Stirling Terrace on Saturday

The driver of a car that allegedly slammed into a parked car on Stirling Terrace in Albany on Saturday night has been charged. Police say the serious crash occurred about 9.30pm in the Albany Central Business District but no people were injured in the incident. A 27-year-old Albany man has been charged with no authority to drive following the crash. Police allege the man drove a Mitsubishi Magna down Spencer Street and attempted to turn onto Stirling Terrace but crashed into a parked Toyota LandCruiser. The Mitsubishi sustained heavy damage in the incident, losing its front righthand wheel and eventually coming to rest on the footpath. The car was left stranded on the pavement out the front of Albany’s University of WA campus on Sunday morning. There were no other occupants inside the vehicle or the parked four-wheel drive at the time of the crash.
