Man taken into custody as Major Crash investigate Saturday night hit and run crash in Centennial Park

A 49-year-old man is in custody in connection with a hit-and-run crash in Albany on Saturday night that saw a 43-year-old man taken to Albany Health Campus with serious injuries. A WA Police spokesperson said the man is assisting police with inquiries into the incident, which remains under investigation by Major Crash. The hit and run is believed to have occurred on Sanford Road near the corner of Graham Street in Centennial Park at about 9.15pm on Saturday. The scene was attended by Albany Police and St John WA. A spokesperson for St John WA confirmed they took a pedestrian to Albany Health Campus at about 9:20pm on Saturday. Sanford Road was currently blocked off between Ashford Street and Graham Street by investigating police on Sunday.
