Albany star Nathan Crudeli helped lead WA Country XI to victory in their second game of the WACA Premier T20 competition after claiming three wickets against Perth on Sunday.

Now playing with Mt Barker, Crudeli was joined by Railways all-rounder Coen Marwick in the WA Country XI side that was coached by local Tim Edmunds.

WA Country XI chased down Perth’s total in the second game with one over to spare as Michael Tassone and Haydn Slodecki guided their side home.

Tassone smashed 48 while Slodecki finished unbeaten on 43 to help WA Country XI finish on 2-139 off 19 overs in reply to Perth’s 5-137.

Crudeli ripped through Perth’s top order, claiming the first three wickets of the innings to leave them reeling at 3-38.

He bowled first-class cricketer Jono Wells to snare his first scalp and then removed Tom Scollay and Sean Roberts and finished with 3-24 from his four overs.

Marwick bowled three overs and went without a wicket.

In the first game, WA Country XI posted 82 batting first as they were bowled out in the final over against Willetton.

Crudeli made three runs, while Marwick was bowled for a duck.

Australian Test opener Cameron Bancroft opened the batting for Willetton, posting 13 before the Albany pair combined to remove the WA star.

Bancroft was caught by Marwick off the bowling of Crudeli.

Crudeli finished with 1-25 off three overs, while Marwick went for 10 runs off his 1.3 overs.

WA Country XI will play their final two regular fixtures this Sunday in a bid to finish in the top two of their pool and reach the qualifying finals.
