One Point Lady’s love affair with Albany continued last week, chalking up a fourth victory at the track.

The consistent mare was previously trained by Steve Wolfe and is now in the care of Gingin’s Cliff Green.

After running second to talented type Let’sdeal at her previous start, One Point Lady jumped an $8.90 chance but was strong at the finish for apprentice Brandon Louis.

One Point Lady settled worse than midfield in the Nutrien Ag Solutions Handicap (1900m) but pounced on her rivals nearing the home turn, going on to win by half a length over Artie’s Comet.

In a wonderful Albany record, One Point Lady has now had 10 starts at Percy Spencer Racecourse and collected four wins and three minor placings.

The Dan and Ben Pearce-trained Grece Lightning turned around his form, breaking his maiden status earlier in the day.

Grece Lightning was beaten more than 10 lengths at his previous start at Belmont and had only two third placings from nine career starts.

However apprentice Luke Campbell settled the three-year-old midfield and they were poised to strike coming into the home straight.

Grece Lightning ($12) went on to win by a short head over $2.30 favourite Scenic Strike in the Southern Wire Maiden (1600m).

At only her second career start, Danube River was an impressive maiden winner for trainer Bruce Watkins and rider Kyra Yuill.

The three-year-old filly sat just behind the leaders and then powered to the line to win by 0.2 lengths over Snippagent, while favourite Safe Rappa was third.

Well-supported favourite Bentley Beau lumped 61.5kg and was strong at the finish to make it back-to-back wins for Albany trainer Peter Western.

Bentley Beau was heavily backed into $1.80 and was not fazed by the heavy impost, sprinting home over the top of his rivals to win by 1.4 lengths over the fast-finishing Kutsanya.

The result handed Yuill a winning double in the saddle.

Jockey Lisa Staples received a reprimand from stewards for careless riding on Prince Imortall in race two, while Ricky’s Ora was sent back to trials after an uncompetitive performance.
