Next generation of local tennis stars learn from experts at Albany Tennis Academy three-day camp

Albany Tennis Academy finished 2020 with a bang as it held its biggest camp yet.
A total of 30 children enjoyed a three-day camp at Merrifield Park Tennis Club to finish the year in style.
Players aged six to 13 enjoyed three days of drills, culminating in a tournament on the final day.
Former ATA student and Scarborough Tennis Club coach Michael Offerman shared his knowledge at the camp along with three local coaches including former Australian schoolgirls’ junior champion Abbi Gibson.

As the numbers were so high, ATA plans to run another two camps, from January 11-13 and January 18-20.
ATA director and local coach David Kerr said the event was a huge success.
“It was a really good camp and the numbers were unbelievable,” he said. “That is definitely the biggest camp we have had.
“It was great to have Michael down to coach on his break and all the kids had heaps of fun and there was plenty of development being shown.”
