Mt Barker product Arthur Jones impressed in the Western Bulldogs final practice match against North Melbourne on Saturday as he continues to push for a senior debut as the start of the 2023 AFL season nears.

Jones was taken by the Dogs with pick 43 in the 2021 national draft but is still yet to play at AFL level, making 16 appearances for their VFL side in 2022.

Jones booted two goals and collected nine disposals as the Dogs crushed the Roos by 58 points at Ikon Park.

The Dogs had jumped out to a 38-point lead at the main break and held the Kangaroos to just six points in the third term as they piled on six goals in a rampant quarter.

The mercurial forward’s speed and skill were on full display in the 22.11 (143) to 13.7 (85) trouncing, with the 19-year-old also laying two tackles and taking two marks.

Jones will likely have to contend with teammates Cody Weightman and Toby McLean for a permanent spot in the Dogs forward line.

Albany ruckman Darcy Cameron made a return from injury to play important minutes for Collingwood in their pre-season practice game against Hawthorn last Thursday.

Cameron, who hails from North Albany, collected 18 hit-outs to go with 11 disposals, four marks, three clearances and three tackles as the Magpies won by six points at University of Tasmania Stadium.
