Swimmers of all ages are encouraged to come together to make a splash and support people living with neurological conditions in the Great Southern.

The MSWA Albany Swim, to be held on March 11, is in its 11th year, with funds raised going to the organisation.

The swim will take place at the Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre, starting at 9am.

Funds raised through the event contributed to the opening of the MSWA Albany services centre and high-support accommodation facility last year.

Teams will work together to complete the impressive eight hours of non-stop swimming.

Swimmers will take it in turns to complete the laps in a stroke of their choice, from freestyle to doggy paddle and anything in between.

Among the teams competing will be the Albany Pod team representing MSWA Albany.

MSWA senior events co-ordinator Dannielle McConnell said it was exciting to see the major project come to fruition, with the money raised by the community, for the community.

“What is really exciting about this year’s MSWA Albany Swim is that we can see where our fundraising has been invested and the tangible difference it is making in the local community,” she said.

“Now there is an incredible opportunity for us to raise even more funds to expand MSWA’s impact in Albany and beyond in 2023, but we need your support.”

Registrations have closed, but late registration will be available on the day if the event is not fully booked.

You can sponsor a team via the MSWA website.
