Midnight fireworks return at City of Albany’s New Year’s Eve Family Picnic and Fireworks

New Year’s Eve celebrations will return with a bang this year, with the City of Albany to stage two fireworks displays over Princess Royal Harbour.

Festivities will start at Anzac Peace Park from 5pm with live music, food vendors, lawn games and entertainment before a fireworks display at 9pm for families and another in the more traditional midnight timeslot.

The midnight fireworks were scrapped last year because of COVID-19 budget restraints.

With the community cases in Perth this month, anyone visiting from Perth or Peel is asked to wear a mask at the New Year’s Eve Family Picnic and Fireworks.

To comply with COVID-19 guidelines, the event will include sanitiser stations, COVID marshals, and entry via the COVIDSafe and SafeWA app QR code.
