Man denies six charges of indecent exposure to child
A Gnowangerup man who allegedly exposed indecent material to an undercover police officer posing as a child online has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Leo Nayda appeared in Albany Magistrate’s Court via video link from Albany Regional Prison last Thursday facing six counts of using electronic communication to expose a child under 16 to indecent matter.
The court was told Mr Nayda was charged after he was exposed by an undercover police officer posing as a 16-year-old child.
The alleged incidents occurred over six separate dates from April to July last year.
A bail application by defence counsel Elizabeth Hamilton was denied when prosecutor Sergeant Carl Fjastad told the court Nayda remained a risk and was likely to reoffend. Nayda will reappear in Albany District Court in April.
