Four Great Southern gallopers will contest Saturday’s $70,000 Skyracing.TV — Provincial Championship Series Final (1400m) at Belmont Park.

Gradual Incline, Mongolian Warlord, Tranquilla Sunrise and Force Element will fly the local flag in the feature race that is part of the program as racing returns to WA’s winter headquarters.

The Steve Wolfe-trained Mongolian Warlord heads the Great Southern chances having won three in a row in Albany before two unplaced runs at Ascot recently.

Mongolian Warlord was successful in the Albany heat of the series in April, easily beating Tranquilla Sunrise to earn a start in the final.

The rising four-year-old will be one of the main fancies in the field but will have to overcome a wide draw in barrier 13 with stable jockey Shaun McGruddy aboard.

Tranquilla Sunrise has been impressive since joining the Roy Rogers stable with a win and two minor placings before a solid effort behind Roganella over 1400m last start in Saturday metropolitan grade.

Joe Azzopardi picks up the ride on the speedy type, which gets in with 56.5kg but has drawn awkwardly in gate 15.

Gradual Incline, for Pingrup trainer Alan Smith, finished third to Arfa Chance in the Bunbury heat of the series.

The winner at four of 17 career starts will carry 57kg from barrier eight with Patrick Carbery aboard.

Veteran Albany trainer Dixie Solly will start Force Element, who is another that has drawn badly in gate 16.

Hoop Mitchell Pateman will ride last-start Kalgoorlie winner It’s Dynamite in the feature.
