Local doubles pairs take out the Albany Pickleball Club’s first Club Championships

Albany Pickleball Club held its inaugural club championships across the past fortnight.

Held at the Lawley Park Tennis Club, the matches were played with great spirit and competitiveness.

The women’s doubles were won by Karen Douglas and Jenny Rickerby, with Jenny Allen and Clara Willock runners-up.

John Corson and Chris Whitaker won the men’s doubles on a countback from Richard Harris and Geoff Whitaker.

The mixed doubles was a closely fought affair with Clara Willock and Richard Harris defeating Georgie Walker and Will Richards.

Albany Pickleball Club invites anyone interested in playing the sport to attend their sessions at the Lawley Park Tennis Club on Tuesdays at 4pm or 1.30pm on Thursdays, with paddles and balls supplied by the club for a $5 fee.
