Boxwood Hill and Lake Grace-Pingrup will head into this Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash against each other with plenty of momentum after both coasted to big victories in round 11 last Saturday afternoon.

In round 11 of the Ongerup Football Association league competition, Lake Grace-Pingrup made it back-to-back wins after demolishing Jerramungup in Lake Grace.

Regan Smith and Kane Pinney combined to kick six goals as the home side ran out 62-point winners in the end, their fifth victory of the season.

Jack Trevenen was outstanding for Lake Grace-Pingrup and his side are one game clear in second spot ahead of a big clash with Boxwood Hill.

Andy Solomon and Benjamin Hislop both finished with three goals for the Eagles, who were best served by Shane Edmonds and Bill Brown but they were outclassed, 9.7 (61) to 19.9 (123).

Meanwhile, Boxwood marched on to their ninth straight win, easily accounting for Newdegate in Newdegate.

The visitors were in control from the outset as they went on to post an emphatic victory, 18.13 (121) to 5.7 (37), over the Lions.

Ian Lloyd, David Newman and Harrison Morgan (three goals) tried hard for the home side but Boxwood had too many contributors.

In what will be a highly awaited clash, Boxwood and Lake Grace-Pingrup meet this Saturday in round 12 in Lake Grace.

It will be the third time the two sides have faced off this season, with Boxwood easy 56-point winners in round 2 while the most recent clash in round 7 was a beauty with the margin just 11 points in Boxwood’s favour.

Gnowangerup, who had the bye on Saturday, will be on the road to face the Eagles and a win can draw them level with Lake Grace-Pingrup if they lose the top-of-the-table showdown.
