Kangas 11 all class in big win over Grammar 13 to remain unbeaten in Albany Netball Association B5 comp
The top-placed Kangas 11 showed their class in round six of the Albany Netball Association B5 competition as they took on Grammar Griffins 13 last Saturday.
The Griffins, who currently sit on the bottom of the ladder, played hard and didn’t lose hope the entire game despite what the score reflected.
In particular Griffins wing defence Maya Capelli worked hard, making some excellent intercepts down the court giving the team scoring opportunities.
Kangas defenders Matilda King and Ellie McTavish were too strong for the Griffins shooters.
Kangas shooters Irene Ugle and Zeva Faulkner made some excellent attempts at goals and worked very hard for the rebounds on missed shots.
Accurate shooting from Kangas lifted the team and the Kangas wing attack Georgia Nowotny made some excellent leads and progression down the court.
Griffins centre Venja Ruggera helped move the ball down the court well but it was not enough for the Griffins who ended up going down 31-1 at the final whistle.
The comprehensive victory enabled Kangas 11 to keep their buffer on top of the ladder.
In the other B5 fixture Narrikup 11 defeated Bethel 5, 33-5, in what was another very tough game of netball.
