IN PICTURES: Wet Albany weather not a deterrent for crowd at Hockey Australia Country Challenge finals

Inclement weather did not stop a good crowd gathering to watch the finals of the Hockey Australia Country Challenge on Saturday afternoon. High-quality play was on display at the culmination of the week-long tournament which drew players to Albany from all over the regional Australia. Umbrellas and wet-weather gear were essential for those set up on the field’s fence line, while other ducked in and out of cover as showers fell during the second half of the men’s final between WA and Queensland. Queensland came out triumphant in both finals, defeating the WA men’s team 5-0 and NSW women’s team 1-0.
