We asked our readers to show us how they spent their Christmas and they delivered — in pets.

We received a sleigh-full of dog photos, but also a galah, cat, and a sheep called Sausage.

Some of the best dressed in the region were in fact animals with little Hachi making a fantastic Santa, horse Shadow pulling off a convincing reindeer and cat Harvey posing in his gingerbread best.

Labrador Albie was excited to unpack his carefully wrapped soft toy (spoiler: it was a sausage in a bun) while kelpie Maggie enjoyed the simpler things in life, soaking up the sun’s rays at Ledge Beach.
