IN PICTURES: Inspiring speakers lead Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Women’s Day event

Attendees were treated to “mind-blowing speakers” at the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s International Women’s Day Celebration on Friday.

The event, hosted at the Hilton Garden Inn, was headlined by Natasha Short and Sally Carbon and attracted about 100 attendees.

Ms Short, who has 25 years of experience in community development, talked about how she learnt that empowering women could spread value throughout communities

The address delivered by Ms Carbon was wide-ranging, touching on her experience transitioning from being a female athlete in the 1990s to a succesful business leader.

Other speakers included Vernice Gillies, Marnie Kalma, Preity Dhaliwal, Emma Polette, Rumeena Nizam and Kristen-Pyrz Brown.

The ACCI also used the event to kick start a mentor-mentee program it plans to expand in the coming months.
