IN PICTURES: Hundreds flock to Albany racecourse for Wellington & Reeves Albany Community Cup on Easter Sunday

Around 600 racegoers enjoyed the Easter spirit by hitting the Percy Spencer Racecourse on Sunday for the Wellington & Reeves Albany Community Cup. Local trainer Steve Wolfe took out the $125,000 feature race with Currimundi, jockeyed by Shaun McGruddy, making it the stable’s fourth Albany Cup triumph. Racegoers flocked to the fence line for the 2100m race to help their favourite jockeys find another gear as they headed for the winning post. Penny Thomas ran the Pelicans Fashion on the Field competition, which was won by Ant Councillor and his horse-themed number, while Wasana Poonwiset won with her gorgeous pink and peach-coloured outfit. Kristy Jachmann was runner-up with her gorgeous black and white outfit. Eager punters then put their best boot-throwing skills to the test for Wellington and Reeves’ annual Wellington boot toss, which was won by Elliott Foy and youngster Jordan Page in the junior toss.
