Impressive time from Kowalski at nationals

Albany teenager Kyle Kowalski performed strongly in the School Sport Australia national cross-country championships on the Sunshine Coast last weekend.

On Saturday, Kowalski ran 6km around Mooloolaba Golf Course, finishing 48th out of 83 in the boys’ 16-17 age group, clocking 22min 6sec to be the equal first WA competitor across the line.

Kowalski competed in the boys’ 16-17 relay on Monday and ran the quickest time of his WA team.

The relay was split into five 3km runs with Kowalski finishing his leg in a slick 9min 35sec to help WA finish fifth.

He said he was still feeling the effects of Saturday’s run.
