High-speed chase through Albany

Albany police are seeking information about a woman who reached 120km/h during a police chase through the city this morning.

The chase started about 10am on Albany Highway in Mt Melville and wound its way through the CBD.

Patrolling police tried to stop the car as it was speeding, but the driver did not pull over when signalled, instead accelerating away from police.

The police then attempted to pursue the car through the CBD but were forced to abort the chase after 10 minutes as the woman was driving in a “very reckless manner”.

Police say the woman was driving at speeds of 120km/h in a 60km/h zone.

The woman was driving a red Holden Commodore, registration “W883”

Anyone information or dash cam footage of the driver or vehicle is e urged to call the Albany police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
