GSFL 2024: Brilliant Magpie Tyler Stone wins back-to-back best and fairest awards for Denmark-Walpole

Gun Magpie Tyler Stone finished yet another stellar season for Denmark-Walpole by claiming back-to-back league best and fairest awards at the club’s presentation night on September 14. The big-bodied midfielder-forward was crucially consistent for the struggling Magpies, who managed just one win this year, to finish ahead of Brad Keast and emerging talent Marlon Mastalerz in the count. Stone booted a team-high 30 goals for the season in his 12 matches to clinch the best and fairest gong with 106 votes. Keast and Mastalerz were tied for second with 79 votes each while half-back Ben Olden (59 votes) and on-baller Noah Madaffari (49) rounded out the top five. Young gun Charlie Benson took out the Mitchell Williams Rising Star award. Jaden Guidi was named best and fairest in the reserves, Jackson Ross clinched the colts top award and Warrick Proudlove medallist Ryan Hick won the 16s best and fairest gong. Also recognised on the night were stalwarts Glen and Kim Burton who both received club life membership.
