Putting the vouchers to good use by holding a sausage sizzle, WA Seabird Rescue plans to use the amount to support the organisation’s volunteers in their continued effort to help local wildlife.

Meanwhile, the Albany Men’s Shed will use the voucher to spread awareness and broadly advertise how the men’s shed contributes to the community by way of the sausage sizzle.

WA Seabird Rescue’s small group of volunteers rehabilitate sea and water birds in Albany and the south coast and are passionate about educating the public on the work they do.

The group often finds a wide variety of birds ending up in their care for a number of reasons, from birds involved in road accidents to getting tangled in fishing lines and nets.

Albany Men’s Shed consists of about 150 men who are involved in initiatives such as woodworking, gardening, art, furniture restoration and community service as a way to give back to the wider community.

The men’s shed regularly fundraises for other organisations such as Hawthorn House and the Albany Hospice through cash for cans.

Each month, two winners will be announced as the recipients of $200 vouchers.
