Former North Albany big man Darcy Cameron is relishing a more versatile role as he starred for Collingwood in their 27-point loss to Richmond at the MCG on Saturday night.

Cameron was tremendous for the Magpies, finishing with 21 disposals, six tackles, 14 hit-outs, five clearances and 263m gained in the 17.11 (113) to 12.14 (86) loss.

The 26-year-old was up against Tigers pair Toby Nankervis and Ivan Soldo but relished the role as the Magpies’ No.1 ruckman in the absence of injured star Brodie Grundy.

Jeremy McGovern also continued his excellent form for a struggling West Coast Eagles as they lost 4.6 (30) to 16.9 (105) against Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night.

McGovern grabbed six marks to go with 21 disposals and 248m gained in a wet and slippery contest. Railways junior Jordan Clark was also superb, collecting plenty of the ball in Fremantle’s thrashing of North Melbourne on Friday night.
