Being prepared for bushfires is everyone’s responsibility.

The Lower Kalgan Community Association will be holding a free fire resilience workshop on February 25.

Special guest Chris Ferreira from The Forever Project will be discussing techniques to create a more resilient sustainable environment.

Mr Ferreira will be working with Lower Kalgan volunteers to create a fire-resilient demonstration garden enabling participants to see what a fire resilient garden makeover can look like.

Other topics discussed will include bushland management, fire and windbreaks, climate change impacts and managing weeds and feral animals after a fire.

The workshop is free and will be held at the Lower Kalgan Hall.

Booking is essential and can be made by emailing kalgancommunity@gmail.com.
