Fire burns at edge of tennis club

Firefighters have extinguished a small scrub fire which started within metres of Lawley Park Tennis Club this afternoon.

Two crews from Albany Fire and Rescue attended the fire at the corner of Bolt Terrace and Princess Royal Drive at 2.47pm which burnt within metres of the train tracks.

The fire was extinguished about 30 minutes later and reached within 50m of the edge of the tennis club.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and crews are expected to monitor the scene.
