Festival set to serve up feast of fishy fun for foodies

Now in its ninth year, the Festival of the Sea will once again provide a maritime extravaganza for Albany on Saturday.

Held at Albany Boatshed, the ocean celebration will include a variety of activities and events including a boat-building competition, a seafood cooking demonstration and a host of local artisan stalls.

Event co-ordinator Jenny Rickerby said the festival offered a unique experience. “There is nothing else like it really,” she said. “It’s the cheapest thing anyone can go to and get all those sorts of activities for virtually nothing.”

Some of the other offerings include a photography display, local spirits, wine and beer and a selection of live music.

The festival will run from 10am- 4pm.
