Feature race success for Lang Inwood after Batavia Streamline steams home in Harry Capararo Memorial

Six-year-old mare Batavia Streamline produced a blistering finish to win the $10,000 Harry Capararo Memorial Sprint Final (1832m) at Harold Reid Paceway on Saturday night.

The Lang Inwood-trained pacer stormed home in the straight for driver Emily Suvaljko to take out the third edition of the Harry Capararo Memorial.

Suvaljko finished the nine-race program at Albany Harness Racing Club with a winning double, highlighted by her feature race success.

Batavia Streamline ran third in the first of the two prelude events in the memorial and was sent out a $14 chance in the final.

After jumping from the inside of the second row, Batavia Streamline settled in a nice position midfield before angling to the outside approaching the home corner.

Favourite Sanford Tilly hit the lead in the straight but Batavia Streamline flew home down the outside to prevail by a short half-head in a photo finish.

Sanford Tilly finished second for trainer John Fagg and driver Jocelyn Young, while the Ian Mulchy-trained Yankees Jewell filled third with Mitchell Miller in the sulky.

The result was just a second career win for Batavia Streamline in 23 starts.

Suvaljko bought up the second leg of her winning double in the final race on the program, guiding the Jemma Collins-trained Ay Milton to victory by 5.9m.

Trainer Barry Howlett and reinsman Chris Lewis teamed up to score a winning double.

Popular $1.22 favourite State Of Heaven clung onto victory by a half head in race three over 2265m, defeating Fleur Du Maquis.

Name In Lights broke maiden status in the Albany Scaffold Hire Pace (2265m) for Howlett and Lewis in dominant fashion, winning by 53.3m.

Last season’s leading Albany trainer Hayden Reeves also finished with a winning double, preparing $2.30 favourite Bountiful Reactor to win by 14.6m in the Grande Foods Pace (1832m) driven by Dylan Egerton-Green.

Thejewelinhereye was Reeves’ second winner on the night, winning by 4.9m at long odds of $23 in the Albany Horseworld Pace (2648m).

Egerton-Green made it a winning double in the sulky, when he guided Marcotti to a 11.9m victory in race two.

Trainer Aiden De Campo and reinswoman Emily Johnson won the first race with favourite Gods Plan prevailing by 7.1m.

The Cheyenne King-Davies-trained Nullarbor Navajo ($21 chance) won the Advertiser Print Pace (2265m) by a half-head, edging out the favourite Bettor Class in a thrilling finish.
