Driver impresses with triple victory spell
Albany driver Ryan Warwick produced a magnificent winning treble from the nine-race card at the Albany Harness Racing Club last Saturday night.
Warwick rode home favourites McClinchie ($1.30) and Mister Daytona ($1.20) before bringing in outside chance Murihiku Miss ($32.20) in the final race to record an impressive evening.
Junior driver Jocelyn Young also had a solid night as she managed a winning double.
Young got off to a strong start in race 1 as she took $1.90 favourite Soho Lexington to victory, beating out Ebony Stride ($6.70) and Adda Spoilt Pomme ($41.90).
Her second win for the night came in race 7 when Starlight Brigade ($3.30) overcame $1.60 favourite Messi, ridden by Warwick, and October Brown ($12.30). Crimson Floyd ($19.40) made a late charge in race 2 to claim victory.
The six-year-old bay gelding powered to the front on the last turn to win by 6m over Firth of Forth ($6.20) with $1.90 favourite Haveacrackadda placing third.
Safari Storm took out race 3, eventually winning over Trick the Navajo and Wicked Delight.
Red hot favourite Rick Yankee was victorious in race 4 as Shes Artful placed second and Ariki was third.
AHRC will host their next meeting this Saturday at Harold Reid Paceway with an 8-race card.
